| 01 August 2008 After being dismissed from his job as a Scaffolding driver having lost his driving license, Ian signed up for the New Deal Intensive Activity Period programme with TNG. Through the programme, Ian gained his Fork Lift Training and “Working at Heights” with CSCS. During his time at TNG, Ian used his Advisor Discretionary Fund (ADF) to reduce his driving ban but this left him with no money to regain his driving licence. He was advised to join the Progress 2 Work programme, which helped pay for his licence and his medical and his Adviser helped him contact his previous employer. There had been difficulties with his manager but Ian received a letter from the company director saying he would be taken back on. Ian is pleased to have achieved his FLT and CSCS and get a driving license and is now reinstated in his old position and is a valuable asset as he has received extra training with TNG that has made him more employable.
