| 01 August 2008 Natalie, 23, enrolled on the New Deal 18-24 FTET course with TNG after suffering long-term unemployment. She came to TNG with low confidence, low self-esteem and one of her main barriers was her resistance to change. With the help and support of her TNG Adviser she managed to complete a 2 week placement at a local charity shop in Darlington, which gave her an insight into the public sector. Natalie’s end goal was to work with the elderly in the care industry and she started working towards a qualification to achieve this. An Adviser in Darlington knew of a vacancy in a care home and Natalie applied and managed to secure a job. Natalie is still in the job one year on and plans to continue gaining qualifications. She said: “I want to thank everyone at TNG for their help and support.”
