Stephen Devaney

Stephen, 30, had been unemployed since leaving school prior to joining TNG. His lack of qualifications and his problems with alcohol were making it difficult to find and secure work.

His TNG Adviser signposted him towards the AA, where he began to start making changes in his life. Stephen’s Adviser also helped improve his CV and applications and worked on building his self-esteem and motivation, both of which were low due to the amount of time he had been out of work.
Stephen was given guidance about how to sell himself to prospective employers in order to gain employment.

Thanks to this help Stephen gained a four week trial at a local IT firm and he has now been taken on as a permanent Technical Support Consultant.
Stephen changed his life with the help of TNG and he is now trying to help his family achieve similar goals. He says:

“TNG has helped improve, not only mine, but my entire family’s quality of life.”
