We also work with the Learning and Skills Councils (LSC) which fund training for young people to both enter into and develop their careers and thereby upskilling the workforce. This is mainly achieved through Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship programmes in which we offer qualifications in a number of vocational areas and Entry to Employment (e2e) programmes. Our learners/trainees are employed by a wide range of small, medium and large companies.
Through LSC’s other funding streams, we deliver workforce development activities, particularly NVQs, to raise the skills levels of organisations. We are extensively involved in developing Paperfree portfolios and using new technology to aid learners. We work with companies and trade bodies to design courses which lead to employment or self-employment and have been at the forefront of the development of the flagship New Deal programme.
Our mentoring programmes, which work with disaffected clients, have received national recognition and TNG has developed into a National Provider of mentoring services both for JCP and other organisations.
